Why it matters for your organization

Storytelling is more than a communication technique—it’s a strategic skill. In today’s fast-moving and often fragmented work environment, leaders who communicate through compelling narratives are better equipped to inspire trust, drive engagement, and lead through change

This collection offers a practical, scalable way to:

Help people build practical storytelling skills with these four new Skills Paths

CrossKnowledge’s Skill Paths provide your team with actionable strategies that can be immediately applied in the workplace. Whether your focus is on developing leadership potential or building influence across teams, these courses are flexible, time-efficient, and designed to help learners master a specific skill.

Here’s a quick overview of the four Skill Paths:

Persuade through compelling narratives

  1. Understand Storytelling’s Role in Effective Leadership
Audience: Leaders | Duration: 68 min
The most successful leaders, by their very nature, possess a vision that transcends the ordinary. How do they inspire others to commit to it too? This course shows the many roles that storytelling must play in igniting team action.
  2. Master the Elements of Storytelling
Audience: Everyone | Duration: 56 min
What goes into a great story? Conflict, characters, context, theme and more. This course shows what we must be sure to include—and leave out—to ensure that our audience stays riveted and how best to craft these elements.
  3. Structure Compelling Stories
Audience: Everyone | Duration: 57 min
If you’re not sure exactly why certain stories have the power to hook you in and keep you guessing what happens next, this course will help you uncover the secrets. You’ll learn about the timeless structure that makes a story compelling, whether around a campfire, at the movies, or in conference rooms and sales calls—and you’ll learn how to use that structure when you need to engage an audience and get your own message across.
  4. Deliver Presentations with Impact
Audience: Everyone | Duration: 46 min
Good presenting means delivering a story—a message and a vision—to an audience, and this means using your voice and body language in ways that connect. In this course, a master storyteller shares her secrets for engaging audiences both large and small in all kinds of contexts while staying authentic to yourself and your message.

Available in five languages—American English, Brazilian Portuguese, Dutch, French, and German—these four Skill Paths are designed to support the needs of global teams.

From insight to mastery: two in-depth Paths to Performance

For organizations looking to build critical skill sets, we recommend our Paths to Performance (P2P). These self-paced programs offer a curated and structured experience rooted in highly effective pedagogy for better upskilling. Learners will go deeper into storytelling techniques and how they apply to leadership and influence.

Here’s a quick overview of the two Paths to Performance:

  1. Harness Storytelling to Elevate Your Leadership
    Audience: Leaders |Duration: 3 hours 30 minutes
To inform, persuade and spur the people you lead into action, you must ground them in a story that shows the path forward. Storytelling is thus fundamental to leadership; in this course you’ll see how to build quality stories and deliver them with impact.
  2. Harness Storytelling to Build Influence
Audience: Everyone | Duration: 3 hours
Influence and persuasion involve being able to tell a smart, compelling story. In the workplace, this could mean telling the story of a product, sharing the vision for a new project or even explaining your own journey as you seek new opportunities. This course shows how timeless storytelling techniques can make us more effective in these and many other areas.

Available in five languages – American English, Brazilian Portuguese, Dutch, French, and Germa – making them ideal for global teams.
